⛳ Pool Rules

1. Entry & Lock Time

  • Picks must be submitted before the tournament's lock time — June 18, 2026 at 3:44 AM PDT.
  • Once locked, picks cannot be changed under any circumstances.
  • You'll receive a unique link after joining. Bookmark it — that's your way back in. If you provide an email when joining, we'll send the link to your inbox too.

2. Making Your Picks

  • Select exactly 5 golfers per entry.
  • Tier constraints apply to keep things competitive (rankings are posted on the entry page):
    • Max 1 golfer from the Top 5 (DataGolf pro rankings 1–5)
    • Max 2 golfers from ranks 6–15
    • Remaining slots are open — lower-ranked or unranked players welcome
  • The system validates your picks on submission and will flag any violations.
  • Cost & Payment: $20 per Major tournament. Pay via Venmo (@Merritt-Richardson), PayPal (@Merritt-Richardson), or Zelle (Merritt Richardson 503-816-6267). Cash also accepted.

3. Scoring

  • Your score is the combined to-par total of your best 4 of 5 golfers. Lowest score wins.
  • Cut lines and scoring are determined after Friday's results.
  • If a golfer misses the cut (MC) or withdraws (WD), they are dropped from your scoring pool.
  • If fewer than 4 of your golfers finish the tournament, your entry is eliminated.

4. Payouts & Tiebreakers

  • 🥇 1st place — 50% of the pool
  • 🥈 2nd place — 30% of the pool
  • 🥉 3rd place — 20% of the pool
  • 🌵 Golden Sombrero — awarded to the first participant eliminated
  • If two or more entries finish tied within the top 3, their winnings are split evenly. For example, if two entries tie for 1st place, they split 80% of the pool (50% + 30%) — each receiving 40%.

Quick Answers

  • Can I change my picks? Only before the lock time (June 18, 2026 at 3:44 AM PDT).
  • How do I get back to my picks? Use the unique link you received after joining. If you entered an email, you can recover your link at /recover. There's also a "Lost your picks link?" button on the entry creation page. Otherwise, contact the admin.
  • Can I change my display name? Yes — from your picks page, click "Change Display Name" to update it anytime. Nicknames are preferred — creativity will be rewarded by the Commish.
  • How is the winner decided? Lowest combined to-par score across your best 4 golfers.
  • Where do I see standings? On the tournament leaderboard page — updated as scores come in.
